How Verification Works
Sagedlist never tells you a practitioner is good. It tells you what was verified, and leaves the judgement to you. Every badge names its subject, and every kind below says what it does not cover.
The Four Kinds
They are separate checks on separate subjects. One does not imply another, in either direction: a verified business does not verify its people, and verified people do not verify their business.
Identity Verified
A real person holds the account and is who the profile names. We check government identification against the name on the profile.
Credential Reviewed
A named certificate exists, names this practitioner, and was issued by the body stated.
Business Verified
The business is registered, the person who set it up is authorised to act for it, and it controls the domain it claims.
Academy Verified
A teaching programme exists, runs, and is run by the people named. Independent schools with no registry qualify on evidence of teaching.
What Verification Never Does
It Cannot Be Bought into Ranking
Organic order is organic. No plan, add-on or badge moves a listing up.
It Does Not Judge the Practice
We do not assess whether a reading was accurate, whether a method is sound, or whether one tradition is better than another. That is not something a directory can check.
It Does Not Expire Quietly
A badge shows only while the verification is active. When one lapses the badge comes off and nothing else about the profile changes. Free profiles stay discoverable either way.
Reviews Are a Separate Thing
Verification is about who somebody is. A review is about what working with them was like. They use different language on purpose, so one is never read as the other.
Where Reviews Come From
Reviews can come from completed bookings or clients whose relationship the practitioner confirmed. They cannot be bought, and the practitioner cannot edit them. This is a policy that applies to every listing, so it carries no badge: a badge everybody has is decoration.
